PSYCHOLOGY SERVICES

About Psychology Services

I provide psychotherapy services to adolescents and adults, and have over 15 years of experience working primarily in the areas of anxiety, depression, and stress. I regard clients as the experts of their lives. My expertise is in creating opportunity for clients to connect with their experiences, knowledge and skills. I use a collaborative approach in which the client and therapist combine their expertise to create new meaning and possibilities. My intent is to walk beside you in your therapeutic journey, to witness what you see and highlight things you might not see along the way, so that you arrive at a place that reflects your goals and who you want to be.

Taking the First Step

I deeply respect people’s decision to make a change in their life. In the midst of feeling overwhelmed with issues like stress or depression, it’s not easy to ask for help. It takes courage, strength and hope.

I’m committed to creating a therapeutic experience that enables you to feel seen, heard and understood. We will work together to set a pace that feels right for you as you share your story, and which will lead to taking steps to bring more health and happiness to your life.

Not every client and therapist are the right fit, therefore I invite you to contact me for a free half-hour phone consultation to explore whether we’re a good match and to discuss the direction you would like our work to take.

How I Work

I use an eclectic therapeutic approach that is tailored to the strengths and needs of each client. My approach includes mindfulness-based, cognitive-behavioral, narrative, motivational interviewing, and solution focused strategies. I believe:

  • Every one of us has struggles in our life; suffering, failure and imperfection are all part of the shared human experience. My goal is to support you to validate these struggles and to help you cultivate patience, kindness and compassion with yourself and others.
  • Every one of us has our own unique strengths, resources and wisdom. Sometimes we lose sight of these. My goal is to see those strengths, highlight them and support you to connect with your wisdom.
  • A safe, respectful therapeutic relationship is essential to the success of therapy. My goal is to build and maintain a positive therapeutic relationship that is collaborative, non-judgmental, respectful and compassionate; a relationship that enhances your personal growth.
  • Healing happens when we have been heard and seen; when our pain is recognized and the darkness has been explored. My goal is to hear and hold your pain and to work together to find ways to transcend that pain and lift the darkness.
