How I Can Help Your Organization

If your goal is to create a more positive, productive workplace, a good place to start is by addressing happiness at work. Happiness is often seen as a “luxury” item in terms of our work life; however, happy employees—those who feel well-supported by their colleagues and leadership and also feel they’re making a meaningful contribution to their workplace—are positively linked to a company’s bottom line. Happy workplaces are more productive, effective and have lower rates of absenteeism and staff turnover.

Happy workplaces are also psychologically healthy and safe for everyone working there. Psychologically healthy and safe workplaces promote their employees’ psychological well-being and actively work to prevent harm to an employee’s psychological health. According to the Mental Health Commission of Canada (MHCC) about half a million Canadians do not go to work each week because of a mental health problem or illness. Mental health problems and illnesses typically make up approximately 30% of disability claims in Canada, making them the number one cause of short- and long-term disability claims.
